Ingi Mihkelsoo has been working at the Institute of Baltic Studies in the field of social cohesion since 2010. Her professional interests are topics related to ethnic minorities, migration, integration and tolerance. Besides that, Ingi is interested in problematics concerning democracy, political culture, political parties and civil society.

Ingi grew up and gained primary education in Konstanz, Germany. After moving to Estonia, she went to a special class in Political Science in the Mart Reinik Gymnasium. Currently Ingi holds a BA degree in Government and Politics from the University of Tartu and studies Comparative Politics in the Master’s Program at the University of Tartu. In her professional career she has worked in the European Parliament, the University of Tartu, the EuroCollege of the University of Tartu and the City Council of Tartu. Ingi has also established and been leading several civil society organisations, including Estonian Refugee Council.
