The Institute of Baltic Studies offers internships for students all year round. We are looking for motivated students interested in socio-economic and (administrative) political processes of state functioning. During the training, students can test themselves as analysts. The work will be mainly qualitative (e.g. analysing secondary sources or summaries of interviews) or quantitative (e.g. analysing data collected through surveys or statistics). Practical tasks are primarily related to ongoing projects and studies or the preparation of new projects. Depending on the needs of the think tank, the traineeship will also include administrative tasks (such as preparing and assisting in organising seminars, events, focus group interviews, etc.). Traineeships are generally unpaid.

Most traineeships take place in our Tartu office and last 2–4 months. However, we are flexible and consider the trainee’s needs.
