Youth work is a rather broad field. It covers activities for young people aged 7 to 26 years old. This includes open youth work, such as youth centres. It also includes recreational education, like art or music schools. Leisure activities, such as circles or classes in schools or youth centres, are part of it too. Juvenile work encompasses youth festivals, camps, youth associations, youth clubs, and projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participation in youth work provides a safe environment for young people. It allows them to develop in various ways. They can also practice what they have learned in formal education. Juvenile work is essential for developing social relationships. It helps young people get to know themselves better, including their strengths and weaknesses. This self-awareness contributes to the transition to working life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is, therefore, essential that every young person has the opportunity to participate in youth work activities. To this end, changes are being made in the youth field. There is a strong focus on diversifying activities and training youth workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To get feedback on what is being done and ideas for improving what is being done so that more young people take part in youth work and are satisfied with it, the Ministry of Education and Research regularly carries out a youth satisfaction survey. This survey is the third in a row. The previous surveys were conducted in 2015\u20132016<\/a> and 2017\u20132018<\/a>. This time, the primary method used is an online survey among young people. The results will be refined and validated through focus group interviews with young people and youth workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
