These programmes enable teachers to expand their network and share experiences with each other in order to diversify their teaching. In 2005, with the support of the <a href=\"https:\/\/school-education.ec.europa.eu\/en\/etwinning\">European Commission, eTwinning programme<\/a> was set up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-el\">eTwinning is a European eLearning programme for online cooperation between schools in Europe. Its purpose is to provide support and collaboration opportunities for teachers across Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-el\">The eTwinning programme is a virtual network and platform for teachers. Teachers in kindergarten, general education, and vocational schools can learn from their colleagues in Estonia and abroad through this platform. The platform also enables teachers to share experiences and participate with their pupils in a range of school-to-school learning projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-el\">The programme thus provides teachers with ideal opportunities for collaboration and self-development. <mark class=\"annotation-text annotation-text-yoast\" id=\"annotation-text-92040f8a-79a6-424e-bf81-c60585231673\">The programme&#8217;s eTwinning platform offers registered teachers and schools the opportunity to develop their skills, share information and collaborate with other registered educators across Europe.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-el\">The study of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ibs.ee\/en\/\">Institute of Baltic Studies<\/a> aims to find out what factors motivate educators in general education schools, nursery schools, and vocational schools to participate in eTwinning and what are seen as the main barriers.
