CeMeWE (Central Baltic Mentoring for Migrant Women seeking Employment) unites partners from Estonia, Latvia, Finland, and Sweden. These partners are collaborating to develop a model with the objective of enhancing the employability of immigrant women. The model also aims to assist these women in overcoming individual, domestic, and societal barriers. The project will yield several outcomes for the target group. These include a lucid comprehension of their employment opportunities, a boost in skills, and a well-defined roadmap outlining the necessary steps for employment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Immigrant women encounter distinct obstacles when it comes to finding employment, including societal hindrances like structural discrimination and inaccessible public services. They also face domestic challenges such as family obligations or unsupportive family attitudes. Additionally, they confront individual barriers like lacking the necessary skills and competencies demanded by the job market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Consequently, they require supplementary measures to enhance their access to and standing within the workforce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Central Baltic (CB) countries have witnessed a substantial upsurge in the number of refugees lately. Most Ukrainian refugees are women needing a swift route to join the workforce due to urgency. Despite the initiation of the EU-CARE program and other initiatives, only a small fraction of these women have managed to secure employment in the region. This situation underscores the immediate requirement for further actions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The primary aim of this project is to elevate the employability of immigrant women. This will be achieved through a model designed to surmount individual, domestic, and societal hindrances. Consequently, participants will gain a clear comprehension of their employment prospects, an augmentation of their skill set, and a well-defined roadmap to employment. Additionally, they will receive the essential guidance and support to traverse this path through mentoring. After their participation, immigrant women will have either secured employment or acquired a clear understanding of the necessary steps for job attainment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Given that all partner nations are currently facing the shared challenge of an influx of refugees, cross-border collaboration is imperative. By uniting their efforts, there is an increased probability of integrating Ukrainian refugees into the workforce. Additionally, the CB region’s preparedness to address future crises is enhanced. The strength of this cross-border coalition lies in its diverse expertise. This includes mentoring and social support (Latvia), capacity building (Estonia), overcoming societal and domestic barriers (Sweden), and collaborative innovation (Finland).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
CeMeWE project extensively involves immigrant women and stakeholders across all its undertakings. This serves to reinforce its impact and ensure the sustainability of the solutions developed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the project Institute of Baltic Studies carries out the activites aimed to increase empoyability of migrant women in Estonia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
