The book Advances in Cultural Tourism Research: Proceedings of the International Conference on Cultural Tourism Advances<\/em><\/a> has been published.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This work is connected to the international conference held in Leuven in June 2023, which focused on the sustainable development potential of cultural tourism. The conference explored successful policy interventions, new trends in cultural tourism, opportunities arising from modern-day information and communication technologies, and other topics related to the field. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Published by Springer Publishing Company as an open access book, the work reflects the key outcomes of cultural development projects implemented in the European cultural tourism sector between 2020 and 2023. As a partner in the IMPACTOUR project, the Institute for Baltic Studies contributed two chapters to the book. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the first chapter, titled Co-Creation Method for Fostering Cultural Tourism Impact<\/em>, the authors, including IBS\u2019 senior researcher Tarmo Kalvet, describe a co-creation method developed to enhance the impact of cultural tourism across different destinations. The main objective of the IMPACTOUR approach is to support decision-makers in improving the sustainability and competitiveness of cultural tourism in these destinations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the second chapter, co-authored by Tarmo Kalvet, Redefining Cultural Tourism Leadership: Innovative Approach and Tool<\/em>, innovative approaches to cultural tourism management and important trends related to tools and data are introduced. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cultural tourism plays a crucial role in economic development and the preservation of cultural heritage. IBS\u2019s contribution to this book helps draw attention to how innovative methods and inclusive strategies can support the sustainable growth of cultural tourism.
