Virge started working as the Head of Communications at the Institute of Baltic Studies at the beginning of 2026. She holds a Master’s degree in Communication Management from the University of Tartu.
In her professional career, she has worked as a press officer at the University of Tartu as well as a communications specialist in the field of medical sciences. Her experience has also been enriched by several freelance communications projects, including collaborations with the Estonian Cancer Network and the company–research organisation Celvia. Immediately prior to joining the Institute of Baltic Studies, she served as Head of Communications at the Vanemuine Theatre.
Virge recharges by staying active. She can often be seen cycling, training at a fitness club or playing padel. Driven by her love for an active lifestyle and her desire to contribute to the development of children’s physical activity habits, she is also a coach in the Gymnathlon Estonia multisport programme.
In her free time, Virge enjoys spending time with family and friends and tries to spend as much time as possible in her hometown of Pärnu.
