An analysis of the activities of the Language Secondment programme in 2024
Since 2024, the Language Secondment programme offers public-sector employees an opportunity to improve their Estonian language skills by spending time in an Estonian-speaking workplace. The programme is designed to make language learning as practical as possible by providing a natural language environment that encourages participants to communicate actively and develop confidence in using Estonian.
The goal of the study commissioned by the Integration Foundation is to assess the operation of the programme, including the activities carried out in 2024 and their initial impact. It also seeks to identify potential challenges and propose ways of addressing them.
To achieve these objectives, the Institute of Baltic Studies will analyse the programme’s background documentation, including participant feedback and placement diaries, and conduct interviews with people involved in the programme. The analysis will be carried out between November 2024 and February 2025.
