Study on the Civic Participation and Attitudes of Young People in Estonia
The study aims to examine civic participation and attitudes among young people aged 15–26 in three thematic areas:
- formal and informal political participation, and barriers to participation;
- political attitudes, values and identity, including a sense of connection to the European Union and trust in institutions;
- information consumption, including media literacy and exposure to disinformation.
The study pays particular attention to 16–17-year-olds and Russian-speaking young people, as there is limited recent data on their attitudes and civic participation.
The findings will be presented in a concise report. The study will draw on findings from previous research, existing survey and register data will be analysed with a focus on young respondents, and focus group interviews will be conducted with Estonian-speaking and Russian-speaking young people aged 15–26.
