Development of user-centered informational material “The inmate’s journey in prison”
The aim of the study is to analyze and improve the effectiveness of prison rehabilitation processes and inmates’ opportunities for reintegration into society. This is facilitated by increasing inmates’ awareness of their rights, responsibilities, and the rehabilitation process. To better understand and support the inmate’s journey, modern methods such as service design and legal design are applied to analyze the needs of inmates and to develop clear and motivating materials. Special attention is given to creating multilingual and culturally sensitive information to support the adaptation and development of inmates from diverse backgrounds.
The study methodology includes in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and co-creation workshops to map inmates’ experiences, needs, and perceptions. Through iterative testing and validation, patterns and solutions that support the creation of user-friendly informational materials are identified. The final outcome will be multilingual materials that are written in plain language, visually appealing, and accessible both electronically and in print.
